As mentioned in the previous post outlining the roadmap for VGA Golf, the biggest new addition to this update is the clubhouse. To unlock the 19th hole you must first play a full round of 18 holes to get the achievement 'Join The Club'. This will unlock a 'secret' button the main menu, which allows you to enter the clubhouse. Of course, if you're too impatient, you can dive right in by typing 'clubhouse' into the game console and press Enter 😁

In the clubhouse you'll be able to find the new trophy cabinet where you can view all of your achievements, and any trophies awarded for completing them. You can also enjoy a round of eightball pool with a friend, either locally or over the internet.

Thanks to feedback from players the driving range has also been updated, so now it's possible to choose a single target and focus on practicing that, rather than being given targets at random. I've also added new rule sets to the golf mode, so as well as traditional stroke play it is also possible to use match play rules, and play for skins. Rule sets are selectable on the lobby menu by the host, when creating a new game. Other changes are mostly cosmetic, such as updated menu artwork and improved textures on the courses. There are no new courses to play in this update, however more are planned for future updates. To that end there is no update to the modkit - version 1.4.x will continue to be compatible with VGA Golf 1.5.

In regards to the roadmap previously published some people have pointed out that adding billiards and an arcade to a golf game is somewhat superfluous. In light of that I shall be changing the roadmap slightly (as I am inclined to agree), so moving forward look out for more golf focused changes. I'm hoping to add CPU controlled players in the next update so that it will be possible to play a round by yourself, as well as add more courses and further enhance the look of the game  with improved crowd models.
